Privacy
Car Statistics is an information service built on open data. It is designed to process as little data about you as possible, and no personal data about vehicles or their owners.
Vehicle data contains no personal information
All vehicle and statistics data shown is aggregated or anonymous and comes from open, public sources. We do not collect, store or display owner information, and the service deliberately has no licence-plate lookup. Technical specifications describe models, not individual vehicles.
Visit data
Like most websites, the web server keeps technical logs (such as IP address, time and the page requested) for operation, security and debugging. These are not used to identify individuals and are not kept longer than necessary.
Analytics and cookies (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand anonymous, aggregated use of the site (which pages are visited, approximate geography, device type). This requires your consent: we use Google Consent Mode with storage set to “denied” by default, so no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google until you press “Accept” in the consent banner at the bottom of the page.
If you consent, the cookies _ga and _ga_* are set to distinguish visits, and your IP address is anonymised before processing. The legal basis is consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). The data processor is Google Ireland Ltd.; data may be transferred to the USA under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC). We do not use the data for advertising or profiling.
You can withdraw consent at any time by declining in the banner or clearing the cookies in your browser. You can also install Google’s opt-out add-on.
Your rights
The GDPR gives you the right to access, rectify and erase personal data about you. Since we do not build profiles or user accounts, we normally hold no personal data linked to you beyond the technical server logs and, with your consent, the anonymous analytics described above.
