About Car Statistics

Car Statistics makes the car market easy to understand through open, comparable data. We cover 40+ European countries and the United States: new passenger car registrations, electric vehicle adoption, fleet size and age, average CO2 emissions, and technical specifications for thousands of car models.

What we do

Every figure on this site comes from official open data sources, primarily Eurostat for country statistics and Wikidata, the Dutch RDW and the US EPA for model-level technical data. We do not collect or publish any personal data. Each page states its source and licence, and how the numbers were derived.

How the data is built

We ingest data from public APIs and open datasets on a regular schedule, store it in a database, and render comparable pages per country, make, model, body type and fuel. Where a page does not have enough unique data to be useful, we keep it out of search results rather than publish a thin page.

Who runs this

Car Statistics is operated by Elgfarm AS, a Norwegian company building data-driven web services.
